Chris Lokken

Hi, I’m Chris Lokken, a Senior Employee Benefits Consultant for Midwest Select Insurance Group. 

I’ve spent more than 25 years in the employee benefits industry helping employers find better ways to finance, manage, and deliver their benefit programs. Throughout my career, I’ve been especially passionate about helping organizations move beyond the traditional annual renewal process and take a more strategic approach to their healthcare spend.

My work focuses on self-funded and alternative funding strategies, healthcare cost containment, plan design, compliance, employee engagement, and using data to help employers make better decisions. I believe employers should understand where their healthcare dollars are going, what is driving their costs, and what they can actually do about it.

I’m a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire with a degree in Business Administration and Economics. Staying involved in the benefits and HR community has also been an important part of my career. I’ve been actively involved with Chippewa Valley SHRM and NABIP and have spoken on employee benefits and healthcare strategy for organizations including WASBO and the Wisconsin ESOP Association, along with a number of other employer and industry groups. I’ve also had the opportunity to participate on various vendor advisory boards. These experiences have allowed me to learn from other professionals, challenge my own thinking, and stay connected to new ideas and approaches across the benefits industry.

Outside of work, I enjoy officiating high school basketball and football, golfing, and finding great live music with my wife, Amy.
